Quick question then. At anytime did you have issues with the engine stallin out when you set the prop in the water? And if so what was the fix? |

Sounds like your motor isnt warmed up when you are doin it. Are these frames balanced or weighted back? |

Actually strange thing is that it only happens after a good bit of running. I tracked down a air leak in the fuel system and got that corrected and figured I'd be good, but nadda. |

Ok that def makes sense with some of the issues I had earlier as far as fuel system problems. Kind of new to the whole carbonated engine (a$$ backward I know but I am a fuel injection guru) , so could you be a little more specific on where to find the fuel valve and also the location of the idle screw. I know to turn it clockwise to raise idle I just don't want to jack with the wrong screw. Thanks for the help also. |

Just wondering, cutt down, maybe you can help me with this. Wasn't there a dispute with copperhead and another mm brand? I could swear I read a thread on here talking about a lawsuit files on copperhead?? Anyways, how in the nuts do they get these things to run so fast? And why is everyone buying them when you can get a gtr, pro drive, or mud buddy for close to the same price, I mean they don't offer very many options |

Ok i take back the thing i said about the price, just went on the website, and realized they are decently priced. So im guessing it's just the speed and price that everyone likes? |

I know this was not addressed to me but I can say I went copperhead without a doubt because of the personal service I received from Gil. I was originally looking at a MB, bit didn't have a local dealer, I figured ok whatever I'll call MB. I swear over the two days of dealing with them it seemed as if they didn't want to sell a dang motor. So ok whatever I found a pristine dealer and he quoted me some outrageous price, I don't recall what the total quote was but there was no way that was flying with the wife. And I think the one he quoted me overrated my transom slightly. So after more looking around I ran across gil's little website, no thrills, nothing special had some links to you tube videos of Gil and crew running the 6.5 on a fairly similar boat (smaller but similar) and so I figured I'd call him up. Be answered himself right away (his buisness number is his direct line) he answered Ll the questions I had inteligently and wasn't just talking his product up. I was sold from there, and purchased my motor the next day, and recieved it not e en a week later via freight. Total price was 3060 shipped from LA to Tx via freight. He through in some extras for free as be didn't have the bear bones motor I was looking for so I got remote fuel and camo for free. I am very happy with his service and my motor, despite needing so E adjustments, it runs like a chap at speeds I wouldn't have expected from a 12 hp motor pushing a load of 700 lbs on abet. So again I know it wasn't addressed to me but I think all that should answer your question. |

you have to look at this hole motor Q's, what are you as a buyer looking for , speed, weight, price ,looks, etc. for me i started out with a gtr with a evt stage 1 kit for me it was kool for about the first week to loud for me but needed the power to move heavy rig. then came the fixing and wrenching when its 5 degress out it was not for me. went over to dual PD (stock) and i was sold plus needed that style reverse. now gill came out with a product that is stock (no wrenching) to speack of. for some guys they may not hunt out of the boat and just use it to get to there spots only. my PD / Phowler rig is to hunt out of, but have spots to run to with the new rig 15/40 phowler with the new 16hpcopperhead. 1 the fact that it's stock motor really appeals to me and quiet. 2 look at the speeds from these small engines. 3 look at the price. 4 remote fuel, elec start, 5 look at the weight. i'm not knocking any one product but for me the 2 set ups that i have are the cats ass for what i do while killing ducks .if your running big guys and a lot of weight you have to stay within the curve . this copper head will do great but 4 men 2 dogs etc like any other boat(weight,Power Etc)if you looking for a kickass setup for little money (fuel burn, boat size ,and price, weight hands down this is a great rig) and again i'm not knocking anyone else rig or product but i likes what i gots:!: P.S. were is gildo ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I can't believe they did a 16hp. I haven't talked to Gil and the crew in a while. Glad to see they are stepping off into a bigger market. I think those guys wanting a light motor with good speeds will be going this route. Hope to see some good reviews on this one. |
