My trailer is too low to the ground to trailer my Copperhead as the instructions describe, has anyone else come up with another way to trailer theirs? |

Curious, how do they say to trailer a Copperhead? Maybe you could run taller tires also. |

Sounds like they are trying to take as much weight off of the trim unit as possible. What you pulling it with. Any lowering of the trailer tongue will raise the prop while trailering. You might be able to go with a dropped hitch. |

You could possibly make a "transom saver" for it. And have it set where it wouldn't be too low. I usually take mine and turn the handle to the left, put a cinch strap on it while tilted down. Tighten up the strap, then tilt it up on the manual tilt, tightening up the strap more. This way it doesn't bounce up and down or twisted side to side. |

I have been strapin mine down by the handle and I have a home made transoome saver with rubber on it. I will take a pic when i get a second. i dont like it turned, rather have prop straight stickin up in the air. I used to turn it but not no mo. |

Problem with the Copperhead, is there is no locking mechanism to hold it down. It has to be starpped somehow. I mentioned to Gil about doing something like GT has on theirs. Would be fairly easy to do yourself. Drill a hole through the sides of the transom mounting plate. Get a bolt with a long smooth shank. Aluminum flat bar and bend it around the belt housing. Trim out end to hook bolt and done. |

cmiller73, Good idea, i think I'm gonna try that. DUCK-DAWG, What about raising the bunk brackets on your trailer. That would raise the whole boat? |

cmiller, I may look into doing that (or something similar) on mine. Up until now, I've been strapping the handle of my motor to the side of my seat while trailering. The only problem I've had with this is that the nuts/bolts attaching the handle to the motor frame tend to loosen on longer drives. What I may do is replace the existing bolts with longer ones, and add 1-2 additional locking nuts to help prevent them from loosening. |

if you look just forward of the prop, there is a few CNC cut outs above the shaft if you have 2 handles on the back of your boat, i've found the best way to strap is with 2 rachette each one going to each handle on back of boat, trim the unit down a bit, then adjust strap evenley, and your unit will not bounce, turn etc, no need to strap handle, works great
