Well...finally got my motor in and on the boat. Got the MB 35 Mini LA Special with the CDI Marine engine on my 1548 Tracker Grizzly tall transom. Started breaking it in today on a little bayou down from my house. I only ran deep water (5' - 10') today and didn't open it up too much for too long.

Water/Wind Conditions - Light ripples with East wind 5-10 mph
Load - Full 6 gal tank of gas up front; me (295lbs ) and the battery (marine dual purpose) in the back, other minor misc. crap (anchor, etc..)
Speed - a steady 28.5 mph

Overall, I'm really pleased with the setup. I kept my outboard with the intention of selling the old setup with my outboard and buying a mud boat if this didn't work out...but I really like my little 1548 Grizzly and put a lot of work into it (blind, swith panels, lights, etc...) so I'm glad this setup will work for where I hunt/fish.

I'm sure I'll upgrade my boat eventually, but I think it will work for now while I take my time thinking about what I want next.

Shoot man that's a sharp rig! I've seen quite a few folks running Grizzly's with a mudmotor. I'm running a Weldbilt with a 35gdsd and works fine for me. I plan to one day upgrade to a hull with .125guage, but for now it will do.

Why in the hell would you cover your boat and Vehicle Liscense Plate #'s?? Do you ride with them covered? Can people not see you on the side of the road?
