Picked up my new Phowler Extreme Series 1760 a few weeks back. After months of hiding in the background reading everything I can, I am finally ready to make my first post on MMT. Rig Specs: 2010 Phowler 1760 (brand new hull sitting from last year) 36 ProDrive Hydraulic trim and automatic FPR Phowler Superfly Popup Blind Full USCG flotation Extended deck Runners on the bottom Cabin lights for seeing the floor at 4am Speed: Got 23 on the GPS today in deep water with 3 guys (I'm about 300 and my two buddies are probly 180 each) and 12 gallons of gas. Little bit of chop. Definitely could feel it get up and go quicker in the skinny water (no chance to GPS, will report back with a reading). With just me, it goes considerably faster(like most people's boat do ha). Review: I love this boat! Everything on it looks great. The paint is flawless and the construction solid. This boat gets comments everywhere I go in WI/IL. You don't see all that many MMs around here. I'm from WI originally, but living in the Chicago suburbs at present (if only I didn't have to work to pay for this thing!). I have been taking it on either the Mississippi between Iowa/Illinois or on the small rivers/lakes by where I grew up. With all the low water this year, there is lots of terrain to test the boat out on. Unfortunately, not much more than a puddle for the ducks to hang out in. I'm sure everyone's MM boat gets them back into the nasty spots, as that's why you buy one. But, being my first mud motor, I am very impressed by this boats ability to get into the shallows. Bubba at Illowa marine promised me I would get into places I never imagined you could drive a boat through. He was right. The main problem I found was that if you get it stuck, it's a real b*tch to get it out. Ordered the winch to cure that problem. The service at Illowa Marine was exceptional. They helped decide exactly what I needed, made sure I had it in time for a little early teal action (even if the teal didn't cooperate) and even dealt with me calling seemingly everyday to see how it was going. Thanks for the beautiful new rig guys! I sent a few guys home from our DU dinner last night with your info. They really liked what they saw looking at my new ride. And Thanks again for your generous donation to chapter! I would recommend Illowa Marine to anyone in the WI/IL/IA area who is looking for an awesome new machine with awesome people to stand behind it! Better pics to follow. Hopefully some feathers and blood, WI southern zone opener next weekend. |

One more pic from the early teal hunt, you can see the inside a little more on this one. I'll take some more pics the next time the weather's nice enough. Raining here, but god do we need it. |
