Mostly just duck hunting maybe try to get into bow fishing. The area I mostly run is around 5 inches on a low day and is pretty soft but I do run bay front a lot which is really hard also. I was thinking about just going with open floor plan and deck infront on a 15ft flat bottom alweld, bad idea you think? |

Are you running marsh and open areas? This will affect my answer. There are a lot of custom builders on here that can hook you up. I like my G-trax for what I do but alot of the coastal guys are running hard chined boats and really like them also. |

I was thinking like barnes. The rogue that G-trax makes would run good w/ that motor. If price is big factor you may check w/ some of the builders on this site and get just what you want and not spend much more than you would on the alweld and have a lot more boat. |

Check this one out. Seems like it would be perfect for a 23hp. I have seen it and it is built like a tank. Looks like the price is right also. viewtopic.php?f=62&t=22532 |

16 foot, 48 at the widest, 36 at the narrowest. Square or tapered chine, with not a lot of extra boxes or weight. I used to have a 23 way back in the day, it ran great on a 16x36 Godevil round chine boat. Would have done better on a tapered chine boat. In fact, a 16x42 would have been perfect. |

leatherwood, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't you from here? Reason I ask is because several guys running 23's around here, best one I've seen so far has carb & exhaust & is running a 17/48 Weldbilt. Hauls azz for a 23 & carries a pretty decent load too. If you're local, I could set you up with a test ride. |

Team camo, yes I am from around here. Crosby texas to be exact. I just bought a used 1644 go devil slick bottom boat for my 23, haven't had a chance to run it yet, I know it won't win a race but I like the room and it should get the job done and if it doesn't I might upgrade to a man size motor next season. I paid 2800 for boat and trailer its a 2000 model boat. Was that a good deal? I will post how it runs maybe tomorrrow. |

I think $2k was a fair deal, & with a lil work & $, that 23 will push you pretty good. If you decide you still want more, that hull will handle a 35, no sweat. |

What do you suggest I should throw on that motor to get a little more hop to my jump and how much. Thanx for any input |

Try the usual bolt on parts (carb, heads & exhaust) & see how she does. I wouldn't go too much further than that with a Mini, tho. |
