I was wondering if anyone has seen one of these run and or has access to a video. I have been a longtail owner for 13 years and to have the neutral option is very interesting to me. I talked by email with mudbuddy and they said they have no video of it. Any opinions of how this set up would work and how reliable the clutch would be is appreciated.

I'm wondering also. Only a few were made. I am awaiting a field report. The clutch feature would be a plus but I also like the new hex shaft and propeller that slips off and is not threaded on, the purported easier drivability and transom adjustment points, the new throttle, and of course the gear reduction to get some extra push and speed. I'm really hoping it works, like any new entry, there will be likely some bugs to sort out. Stay tuned.

My go-devil handle will impact the floor when running at full speed when the skeg impacts a stump or whatever. With the "handle end control box" on this unit, it looks to me like it could be damaged when the handle is slammed down from an impact. Maybe they have thought of that and designed for it.

I seen one back in June at the Sparkleberry Run. I talked about it one of the many threads about the SLT. It was running around 26 through the swamp

I dont know if this applys for all mud buddy longtails but the one i used to have and my buddys would stop at a certain point so it wouldnt go all the way to the floor. i have seen godevils around town strapped all the way to the floor tho.

A MBLT doesn't go all the way to the floor.

The SLT also has a floating handle.

Although I think it's kinda dumb, another part of me actually wants to try one out.

I just don't see a floating handle on a balanced motor being a good idea, unless you can lock it in.

We were all apprehensive when we went from a standard outboard to a mud motor, longtail or shorty, but I bet most of us have never looked back. The ones that went back to an outboard never needed one and/or bought an airboat. All the mfg.'s have learned by trial and error as we have on many things. I like the innovation and we LT owners should benefit down the road. I guess we have not read any field reports because the SLT's have not been delivered yet or the owners have pledged an oath secrecy to the powers that be or the SLT's are in storage in Area 51?

Yeah, could be a while, I am a patient person that's why I get my ducks. I had a GoDevil LT, good product. I still think the SLT is a good idea in my neck of the woods.

Just got a response to an email to mudbuddy. They said their is a 4 week lead time on the super longtails right now. I am tempted to get one, I just don't want to be the one to figure out all the bugs!

Watch out for that four week lead time...im sure they say they will have it to you by duck season to, they are already unable to make their reverse surface drive order on time.

I would like to have one of those with a Hurth trasmissioin and power trim, then a longtail would be appealing to me again.

I drove one in the spring. Other than the neutral and the momentary i really couldn't tell much about the speed. Heavy as heck though
