About a year ago I posted about my brand new Excel 18x54 F4 with MB BD 5500.. What a long road it has been. After missing numerous fishing trips, turkey season, bowfishing trips, drinking trips, and about everything else you can do on a boat I had to part ways. Though my boat was fast and had a pretty good layout my customer service experience was very poor. Between my dealer in Newberry, S.C. and my dealings with the Mudbuddy staff in Utah I feel like a have run a marathon just to miss this entire duck season. I sold my boat in November and thought my run with mudmotors was over for a while. After talking to Bubba at Gator-tail I found out this wasn't so. He told me he would do his best to get me just as much boat (and then some) for whatever I had sold my rig for. I ended up making the long drive to LA and couldn't be happier that I did. After going over every detail and idea for my boat I gave them the final list of what I wanted. This week I have finally received pictures of my finished boat and could not be happier. I can't wait to go pick up my boat and give it a run! I have been very happy with the service and could not believe how perfectly my ideas have been transferred into reality.

Specs on the new rig:

18x54 GTB
nat gear camo
hydroturf
extended deck
2" receiver hitch wired to plug and run winch
welded cat walks
removable bowfishing rails
huntdeck


GTR 35 (stock for now)
reverse plate
sand and rock gaurd

Here are the pictures Bubba sent me this week. I went for an open layout and made sure the deck was long enough for the lady to lay out 8-) . I will update this thread when I get the boat and give it a run. I cant wait to get back on the water finally!!!

Survived a 12 hour drive one way and Bourbon street and picked up the boat this morning! On the way back to SC to break her in!!

I finally put the boat in the river yesterday. Backing off the trailer was the tits. Ran 26 in deep water with me and my buddy 2 coolers and 9 gals of gas.. that was upstream too! I cant believe how strong the stock gtr runs coming from the black death. The boat gets on step with no effort. I know everyone has said this before but going from the go devil LT to the black death to the GTR.... WHAT THE HELL did i waste all that time for. If u aren't running a gtr or pd you need to reevaluate your life choices.
