I have a 10 year old longtail motor 27 hp kohler has ran great . Figured id do the bearings on it turns out one seized up long story short ruined the lower bearing housing. I contact beavertail they send me the wrong one, turns out they have changed to a different design and no longer have this one. They are now telling me to spend $500 and get the new frame so my $93 housing fits. Beavertail is the sole place to get parts for their setups is it just me or should they not be able to store a part the size of a fist regardless if its in huge demand? Ive had other issues with the beavertail camp their customer service sucks a big one. Hopefully ill save somebody the headache of dealing with their idiot VP Rick

the bearings can be purchased from macmaster carr, grainger, or somewhere like that, cut off old bearing cup and have someone machine a new one. shouldnt cost over 50 to 75 dollars

What he said just get your measurements off ya seal and go to mcmaster, real easy to use site, and prices arent terrible.

Problem is bearing was welded to the shaft and cup so we cut it to pieces so i have no old one to go off

you should still be able to find a # on bearing or seal. get shaft diameter and a rough measuremant of O. D. and find a bearing and seal then machine new cup for bearing. if they sent you a new cup get measurements and buy bearings. if you dont have a way to weld or machine most any machine shop should be able to machine a new cup and weld it on for you. not an expensive job
