Been talking to Mike over at Dixie. Went by his shop and he builds a really nice rig. Been talking to him and came up with a great design for the 25 GTR. Gonna be a 16-48 with .125 bottom and .100 sides. 18" hunt deck with 20 deg. Transom angle. 18" sides with the extended deck and an open floor layout. Wired, painted, brush guard, running and nav lights and catwalks. Ought to have it before or about the same time as my motor is ready. Looking forward to the new setup for Arkie and Ms. Flooded timber along with Lillies, stumps, and mud around here! Can't wait to post pics and speeds.

Yeah I sold it to a guy in guntersville. He had to have it cause I wasn't wanting to sell it. Mike has made about 20 boats and has a couple of guys that work with him that have boat building experience as well.

I wish I could find someone who wanted to make me a boat with .100 sides, I'd like to offset the wieght of a 3/16 bottom a little.

Was over there last night and they guys were busy on a boat trying to get it ready for the show this weekend. It looked jam up! Them guys were still at it at 8 30 when we left. I think you will be more than satisfied!

.100 to 3/16 is easy. At least you have something to weld to. I built one a while back that was all .100 and I don't have a fancy pulse machine just a 250 bobcat. It can get a Lil touchy

I would possibly make that brush guard out of something a little heavier. I would tear that off in a season. That's just me.

Nice boat. I was considering Dixie as well. Mike is a fair guy. You get alot of value from dixie. I hope mike continues to build company. Miss ole Ben hope his doing great as well.

Are you putting external drain plugs or having an inspection plate of some kind cut out of the top of the hunt deck?

Gonna go with the plugs on the outside for now. If I need to do something different, I will have to go through the top of the hunt deck. There are 2 rear storage compartments/seats so no good way to go through the false transom from the inside.

Got a call from Bubba at GT today. Motor is ready amd will be picked up tomorrow! Boat should be ready next week and i ought to get on the water next weekend. Damn I'm pumped!

How are you going to drain the hunt deck once water gets into it?

Under the runners. The water will go to the back of the boat. False transom doesnt go all the way to the floor, it sits on top of the runners. Or are you talking about the ability to bilge?

It looked like your drain plugs were extended from the transom to the false trasom. So I thought maybe y'all were trying to seal the hunt deck off and make it water tight
