I couldn't wait any longer - boat a SeaArk Mudrunner 180 with a GTR35LS GatorTail. The SeaArk has center console steering which I love. I read on this forum that the SeaArks porpoise a lot - I could get mine to porpoise only with the trim too high and wot. I found most boats to react that same way to those conditions. The boat is nicely balanced in the water sitting level. GPS speed with 2 was 25.7, I was still playing with the trim to get a little more. That was in deep water. Haven't really tried it in real shallow yet. I bought it for fishing in the Homosassa Fl area, which is quite rocky and some very shallow areas. Fishing yesterday in the Gulf was great, but the tide was in far enough that the water wasn't real shallow - I plan to try a couple of areas today that don't ever hold much water. Here's a pic:

What size boat is it? Doesn't quite look like a 18' boat but I could be wrong. Thickness of hull?

Porpoise when trim is too high?? You need speed to porpoise... put some weight up front or weld a bead at transom.....
