WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt
Picked up new WC Custom 1854 w stock 35 GTR today. We made a quick, successful test run and I headed for Toledo Bend. With 10 gallons of gas, 2 men and one dog, boat ran 24mph (deep water) on GPS, and planed easily. Boat has a 16" hunt deck, double tapered chine, 6 " catwalks with the following: 1/8" x 24" sides, 3/16" x54" bottom, 74" beam at rear 21" transom Floatation in bow, floor, and hunt deck open floor plan with side gutters 6' front deck with a 54" x 20" x 6" gun box/storage compartment located near rear of deck- \ storage area for 2- 6 gallon tanks immediately under gun box Shark eye front nav lights front center spud hole/ winch mount hole rear spud pole brackets removable grab bar transducer bracket removable led light bar(waiting on lights) dual bow eyes bilgepump, Battery cutoff switch dual 2" drains Trolling motor mount on front deck portable pyramid bases for seats EZ Trac all aluminum trailer
Plan to hunt the rig as is, over the last 2 weeks of the season and then make any changes or mods, finish camo, apply gglide and Hydro Turf when warm weather comes back to Tx. I want to thank the forum members for sharing their knowledge, ideas and have primarily used the forum's input for this mudboat. I want to especially thank Pete Willet at WC Customs for his good work and input.WC1.JPG

Re: WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt
Good last hunt for 2013/14 season. good 2 weeks of hunting in the boat and definitely like the open floor plan, 3/16" bottom, and moveable pyramid base seats and light bar. Saw 25mph with myself, dog, and 7 dozen decoys, camo netting, and hunting misc equipment, 23 with 2 men and same load. Good performance for Tbend stump maze. Now boat is cleaned up, ready for Camo in 2 weeks, then back to Pete for Hydroturf, Gator glide, 2 additional handles and some additional light bar tweeking. I am still amazed at how much an SD with a proper hull, opens up this rough, stump filled lake to efficient scouting, hunting and running, when compared to an outboard. Glad I came over to the MM side.

WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt
Looks good. I'm really impressed with how high theses boats ride in the water. The water line on my boat barely covers the 3" of gator glide on the sides. I just need a good deal on a GTR now so I can get rid of the old 40 hp outboard I've been running. Congrats on an awesome rig!
Hers a pic if mine with camo.

Re: WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt
Finishing touches under way- Camo by Red Neck Rattle Can between ice storms here in N LA. Motor cleared, waiting on piant to finish clear coat on boat. Then finishing with Hydro turf on front deck, hunt deck, and floor, and GG on bottom.

Re: WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt/ completed
Pete and his guys got the GG on, and the Hydrturf installed, tweaked the trailer bunk mounts and fixed me up with spud poles, winch mount, main blind frame. Will post pictures of these things as I get them painted and installed. Here are a few pics showing the GG going on, hydroturf and final paint. Will post comparison of performance/ speed results before gg/ compared to with gg as soon as I get it in the water. Want to thank Pete and the entire WC Customs crew for the great work on this rig. Definitely exceeded my expectationsWC 90.JPGWC 112.JPGWC 123.JPG

Re: WC Custom 1854 ready for 1st hunt
Finished rigging boat and it is rigged for fishing right now- runs 25 with full foam floatation, one man, dog, 12 gallons of gas, 2 batteries, trolling motor and fishing gear in deep water, stock GTR, 3750-3800 rpms. No shallow numbers. Finished rig out with motor guide 55lb hand steer on older gator mount, front and rear Lowrance HDS -5s mounted on 2" ram mounts, double row light bar, half floods, half spots. Gator Glide and Hydro turf installed, and have portable winch bracket that fits in spud pole holes. Thanks again to Pete for the great boat.
