This review has been a long time coming. Got boat from Pete last year and ran an old 40 hp outboard on it most of duck season. Ran pretty close to 30 mph loaded down with a 2 man hunting load. I finally ordered a GTR tiller from Gatortail the first week in March. Then I found out about the new upgrades from GT and decided to hold out another 4 weeks for the new LU and handle. Well... 11 weeks into my wait, Pete called me about a remote steer motor that had 2.9 hrs on it. Apparently the fella wanted to go back to an outboard. So, GT graciously refunded my deposit so I could buy the slightly used motor from Pete. I was pumped as I really wanted a CC rig, just didn't want to spend the extra money initially. I got a smoking deal on it. Basically about the same cost as a new tiller motor from GT, fully rigged on remote steer. Well, something definitely wasn't right with the motor from the factory. It would only run about 18 mph empty. After trying everything under the moon, I said screw it. I ordered a mikuni and heads from the Boat Dr and goat them installed with a gutted stocker over the weekend. The boat now jumps on step incredibly fast, idles perfect, and has much better throttle response. And best of all, it runs a steady 29.5 mph deep water with a three blade prop at 4050 rpms. 2 blade was about 1 mph slower. This was with just me and 6 gallons of gas. I will get some loaded speeds after a fishing trip to Delacroix next week. 1854 24" sides 7 2x2 stringers w 4 cross braces Gutters Mueller 12 gal has tank w top deck fill Hydroturf Oversized front hatch Single tapered chine 3/16" bottom 1/8" sides EZ Trac all aluminum trailer with Teflon bunks and aluminum wheels Gatorglide 6" catwalks Shark eyes Front and rear Spud holes and poles Removable nav light bar |

Update... Rig keeps getting faster with break in and a little more wear on 3 blade prop. Boat now has 31 hrs. Yesterday... Me 215 son 125 yeti and 6 gallons of gas, we averaged 30 mph shallow and bumped 30.7 a few times at 3950 rpms. This WC rig is a real performer. I'm still amazed how shallow it drafts compared to my prior rigs. Added a china made 30" light bar that's 198 watts. Sucker is bright! |

Nice rig. Like the black wheels on trailer to. How do u like console compared to tiller for hard reversing in lillies/mud seeing that u can't lift motor manually? |

Is that just a styx river nat gear stencil, with shadow grass stencil on the bottom? |
