Post subject:  My New WC Custom Boats Build

Here is my new boat from Pete Willett at WC Custom Boats. All I can say is "WOW". This boat so far has exceeded all of my expectations. This is my 1st boat of this type but wanted a dual purpose rig with tons of storage and a high comfort level when fishing, hunting or just cruising the back waters. For anybody in doubt about which builder to go with do not hesitate to give Pete a call. Extremely easy to work with and willing to work with you to get the exact boat you are looking for. While I knew what I wanted the end result to be Pete was the one that came up with the best ideas on this boat. I recommend him 100%. On to the boat. (By the way I am using Pete's pics and he may have to chime in on any specs of interest that I leave out.

*WC Custom 2060 (actual length 21.3' when you add in the pointed bow)
*Beam Width at widest point: 84"
*3/16" bottom 1/8" side
*Taper Chine
*Full Flotation
*15" catwalks with 50" wide full floor
*6' front deck with 1 storage box and gun storage box. (Front storage box has a 4,500 lb. winch *mounted on a spud pole.
*Removable rear deck
*Total of 4 boxes in the catwalks. I have one 90" rod locker, a 60" box, a mechanical Box, and a small driver's box. The mechanical box holds the on-board battery charger, power assist pump, and trolling motor/winch battery.
*Hunt Deck
*Console steering up against the catwalks.
*Since I wanted a complete package Pete also installed a Lowrance HDS 9" touchscreen with the Structure Scan , in the console and a Minn Kota Terrova with IPilot on the front deck.
*Pete also made me a custom sliding trolling motor mount so I could slide the motor back completely inside the boat when needed.
*Minn Kota 3 bank battery on-board battery charger.
*Camo Hydro Turf on all flat surfaces.
*2 12 gallon fuel tanks
*Gator Glide on bottom

Motors: 2015 models Dual 35 GatorTails with reverse and 3 blade props. Hydro steering with the power assist (I think that's what its called) This boat steers easier that any boat I have owned in the past. I can run the wheel with 1 finger and still over steer if I am not careful. It honestly feels like there is nothing connected to the steering.

Trailer: Aluminum tandem axle with spare tire and swing away tounge.

I am currently running in the middle pin and my top speed is 29.5 mph @ 4300 rpms with me (280 lbs) 1 other person (260) lbs., ice chest with drinks and full gas tanks. I have 7 hours on it already and since this is my first non outboard boat, I think I will be able to get a little more out of it with a little more time behind the wheel.

This boat is built like a tank and handles very well. Smooth as my last boat and much more comfortable. Does not slide very much at all except for the 1 time I forget to throttle down in a sharp turn but like I said I need more time behind the wheel.

Once again, my thanks to Pete and his crew for a job well done.

Looks great. Can't go wrong going with a WC. They make sure you get exactly what you want. Try running the top pin. Mine has also picked up some speed since putting a bit of wear on my 3 blade prop. Congrats on one fine rig!

At some point post up some pics at rest in the water and a side view of the wrap in full color.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments. Even though I did not post questions when figuring out exactly what I wanted, a lot of the decisions were made based on information by spending many hours reading posts on this site.
