MM Brand: Gatortail GTR Horsepower: 35 Boat Brand: Prodigy Boat Size: 1954 Boat Layout: V-Rake, Extended Deck, Fishtail Transom w/2 half boxes, cat walk trays, cat walks. See comments for all the options! Speeds | Shallow Water: N/A so far Speeds | Deep Water: 29.4-29.6 Steady Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Empty (without poling platform), 260lb driver, 10 gallons of fuel, spud poles, GPS, all the permanent options still in (cat walks w/ trays, half boxes, wet sounds, Seat bases, "Evolve" deck track system, reverse lights) Conditions Tested In: Light breeze/chop Speeds | Deep Water: 27.6-27.8 Steady Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Empty (without poling platform), 260lb driver, 10 gallons of fuel, spud poles, GPS, all the permanent options still in (cat walks w/ trays, half boxes, wet sounds, Seat bases, "Evolve" deck track system, reverse lights), Ulterra trolling motor and 2 batteries UP FRONT (made a big difference with that weight being up front, going to test with batteries in rear and probably end up moving them there) Conditions Tested In: Light breeze/chop Speeds | Deep Water: 24.7 Steady Total Boat Load With Gear Etc: Empty (without poling platform), 260lb driver, 275 lb passenger, 180 lb passenger, 85 lb dog, 10 gallons of fuel, spud poles, GPS, all the permanent options still in (cat walks w/ trays, half boxes, wet sounds, Seat bases, "Evolve" deck track system, reverse lights), cooler with water and snacks, Safety gear and tools (spud pole winch, 4 life vest, anchor with chain and rope, socket set, hand tools), 2 dozen teal decoys, another 70 lb decoy bag (motion decoys (2 mojo teal, hidgon pulsator goose 20 some lbs, mojo feeder) and honker floaters), raffia grass netting which is probably 35 lbs dry. Hammer prop @ about 3900 rpm Conditions Tested In: Light breeze Both Speeds were achieved at around 4680-4700 RPM with Bid Blade prop Will update with shallow water speeds as well as speeds with different loads (and if I move the batteries) Comments: EFI: Motor idles smoothly and consistently at 800 RPM, throttle response is great, and has plenty of power (as far as a 35 HP SD anyway) to get on step and push the boat. Haven't owned a carb version of this motor, but the EFI seems pretty good on fuel. I will say that the air filter system takes a little modification, I had it fall off just because the plastic is pretty rigid so it's hard to clamp on solid. I just ran a couple stainless screws (length carefully selected and done off motor so no plastic entered intake of course) under the hose clamp and it will never go anywhere. Less than $1 and 10 min, permanent fix. Here are all the details on the build: -Prodigy 1954 all 1/8", Prodigy Grass Camo -GTR 35 with Hoyts head work, cam, Exhaust and EcoTrons EFI -21" Sides -Removable Grab bar -Recessed Floor Bracing -3 Seat Bases on Floor, 1 on Extended Deck -Prodigy Fish Tail Deck/Transom w/2 half boxes and removable center deck section -V-Rake w/ice breaker -Extended Deck w/hatch -Trolling Motor Bracket for Minn Kota Ulterra w/I Pilot Link -Removable light bar with 12" Middle and 6" on each side, all Seelite WAV -12 Gallon Permanent Tank w/gauge -8 Foot Spud Pole Kit w/Holde -Diamond Cut Turf on All Surfaces -8" Cat Walks w/trays (1 bent, 1 vertical) -Dual 1500 GPH Bilges w/JR Pump Station -Shark Eyes -Green LED Interior Lights -Spud Pole Winch -Humminbird 899 DI SI on RAM Mount -Wet Sounds 10 Speaker Stealth -12 Volt Plug and Dual USB Plug -Rear Poling Platform w/Seat Base -Prodigy Blind Kit (Not Pictured) -Sliding Transducer Bracket -"Evolve" Track system with 2 Moveable deck sections (see pictures for different setups) -Bow Fishing Platform w/8 50 Watt Seelites Halo color on a bigfoot switch -4 Welded-in Cupholders I think that covers it, haha. Wanted a very modular and versatile boat, Prodigy delivered on my dream rig! Everything truly met or, most commonly, exceeded my expectations. The craftsmanship and fit and finish is second to none in my opinion. In all fairness, I tried the best I could to nit-pick the boat and try and find anything that was "wrong" with it. I am a very particular person and am 100% happy with the boat. But, in writing an objective review, small as they are, these are the only "flaws" I found: -Couple very small scratches in the paint where the turf was trimmed with a razor. Seriously cannot see them standing in the boat, noticed them vacuuming it out. I have scratched it far more it the week ive used it. -The Starboard plug rubs the bottom of the boat just a little when tightening it. No big deal, but got a different style (factory had the little "t" screw) for $3, "problem" solved These are seriously things that I don't know if many other people would notice, but I was so happy with the boat I tried to find any flaw just to be objective for this review. Even as particular as I am I am 100% happy with the rig, its as close to perfect as possible in my opinion. I do have quite a bit of money into it so trust me, if something wasn't right I would say it. Thanks again Chad, Ashley, and the whole crew at Prodigy Boats, I couldn't be happier with the amazing quality product you all delivered for me!!! Will post tons of pics under this post. |

Notice the Permanent Reverse Lights, they are sweet for dark launches or putting it the rig away at night as well. |

Couple pics on how the moveable decks can be set up as a 3 man layout or a bench for use in a blind in addition to extending the front deck |

Thanks guys, definitely love the rig. Forgot to mention that the Ulterra trolling motor (auto stow/deploy, auto trim, etc.) with the I-pilot link is worth every penny. Not only is it cool as hell to just launch your boat, let it hold its spot, then drive it to the dock with a remote and jump on, its been VERY useful for fishing and bowfishing |

I have personally owned five mud boats and as a former MM / boat dealer have sold many others. I thought I'd seen it all. Your boat is fantastic...nice craftsmanship and customization. The back-up lights are a very cool idea. Well done. Enjoy. |
