 27 BTLT with 9x7 vs. 9x6 prop.
So I bought back my old 27 BTLT and have a new 9x6 prop laying around from an even older 23GDLT. Is anyone running 9x6 on a 27hp long tail??
Boat is a 16x48 legendcraft with floors and gun boxes. will be running with 2 people, dog and load of decoys most of the time.
thanks.

9x6 was the best performing prop on my 23 GDLT with a 16x48 and 1 to 2 man hunting loads for sure..... 9x7 was too much pitch and was way slower with loads and was only 1 mph faster solo and light loaded....

yeah on my 23 as well. but now I have a 27 so i'm wondering if I should keep the spare prop or sell it and find a 9x7 for my spare.

find a 9x7 for a spare. I have a mudbuddy 9x7 "used". I will not be using it. If you want it you can have it. Let me know.

Re: 27 BTLT with 9x7 vs. 9x6 prop.
I am running a stock 27 hp longtail (Kohler mud buddy) on a welded 1448 and at 3850 RPM with a 9x6 prop I get about 19.5mph max with just me and the dog. The bottom is ribbed and I know this is not the most efficient boat for this motor but I have put too much work in the boat to change my mind now. The motor is new to me and when this prop wears out I am going to try a 9x7 to see if there is any difference.

well it sounds like I wont be handicapped too badly. The prop that's on it is done so I'll give the 9x6 a shot and see how it works.
Thanks for the offer Dead Duk.

I'm running 20-21 with a 9x7 on a 27 GDLT at about 3550. That's on a 1644 weldcraft ribbed bateau.

Re: 27 BTLT with 9x7 vs. 9x6 prop.
Well I tried putting my new 9x6 on and it doesn't fit. I know it's a GD prop and I'm running a BT. I thought all the threads were the same? guess not. Does anyone have any insight into what size threads may be on my BTLT? I'm assuming one of them are 3/4x10 the other maybe not.
the GD prop seemed to small to put on my BT shaft if that helps.
