The thing to remember with a LT is no matter what you do to the engine you are still swinging the prop 1 to 1. The only way to up speed is up RPMs. We don't have the gears. Just something to keep in mind when you are spending $ on getting your LT up to speed. It is what it is.

ya i know that the governors the main thing im doing im getting springs just so i wont float the valves with the extra rpms and there only 10 bucks a pop also the exhaust is 30 and the intake is bout 15 pretty cheap for what im expecting to get. problem is i went goose hunting last saturday and loaded down me and a buddy dekes guns whole nine yards she was just crawling deathly slow im not expecting it to get on plane but i gotta get some more juice out of it its painfully slow now just me and the dog she rolls nice. so im just asking how much of a difference yal think its guna make

Man. I ain't try'n to bust a bubble bit with a small LT. your not gonna get any speed or power. It's the nature of the beast. I ran a 9hp on a 14' Alumacraft for 9 years. I took up to 5 and 6 (we had kids) at a time with all there shit to the blind. It's just a slow go. It can be so slow at times that fish jump in the boat. That's no shit. After we pulled over the beaver dam and got back going we had a 2 # bass jump in the boat. man if you are looking to go fast or have torque from a 16 or 13 or what ever it is. maybe you should buy a pulling tractor cause you ain't gonna get it w/ a LT.

You can set the govenor to where it can spin 7000 out of water, doesn't mean you will gain that much with it pushing a load.
