Boat mod from 15 to 17 feet

 Boat mod from 15 to 17 feethere are a few pics of a boat modification I did before duck season. the hull was originally 15x42 skiff, added a 2 foot by 10 inch 'hunt deck' pod on the back of the boat. only moved the motor mount a foot back, to keep the weight of the motor centered directly above the pod and hopefully keep the rear from digging as much. the compound angles required to do so were FUN to fit. twin drains were extended through the addition, and are plugged from the inside and out.
happy with the performance results. gained 4 mph with the addition and going from a 5 pitch to a 6 pitch prop. the 5 was required with the shorter hull and heavy load. had 4 guys and a dog plus gear in a foot of water and got on plane ferrying to the blind, which surprised me. |
