 Cav plate help
I bought a 13hp homemade longtail a while back and it is great but it has no cav plate I was wondering of I could get some help with some pics and dimensions so I could build one

a couple inches wider than your prop,,, mine is a 9x7 prop and my plate is about 12 inches long and 10 wide

Call Backwater inc. They are very friendly and knowledgeable, an will sell you one of their plates if you want

mine is 1/4 thick but than and the back tip about a 1/8 so can be adjusted

I called backwater and they have a weld on kit for 125 with everything I need but ... My frame is aluminum there kit is steel

I think it's going to be hard to find one of the big names who sells an aluminum cav plate. Most will be steel. If you want aluminum you may have to find a welding or fab shop.

its not hard to cut the metal then put it in a vice and bend it like you like.
