 Another cav plate topic!!
when i start moving in my boat my motor is easy to handle/ control. As i speed up, and get close to the top speed my motor wants to climb to the clouds. In other post i have seen, i beleive i need to bend the cav plate away from the prop, or towards the prop? My plate is about an inch from the prop. Not sure if its also the fact that i think that my motor is big but i will post that in another topic toimorrow with pictures. thanks for the help

'motor climbs to the clouds' doesn't tell me anything. is the prop trying to surface or dig deeper in the water?
surfacing, bend plate edge away from the prop. digging, bend toward the prop.

Yes it wants to surface. It takes all my arm has to keep it in the water. Roughly how much should I adjust it. Just do a inch at a time or do more then that.

no where near an inch, it won't take much at all. just bend a small spot in the middle of the plate a 1/4 inch or so, if that doesn't do it, bend the plate on both sides of the previous bend. work your way out to the edge till it rides under the surface. easiest way is with an 18 inch pipe wrench or large crescent wrench.

 Re: Another cav plate topic!!
bending up on the sides should be enough, it usually doesn't take much. you'll learn that how you load the boat will effect it as well, a load towards the front will pick the back end of the boat up and may cause it to surface, while a heavy load causes the motor to dig deeper. trial and error.
only bend the trailing edge, the last 1/2 inch or so.
