 Honda 9hp GDLT alternator?
Quick question, does a Honda 9hp (gx270 motor) have some sort of alternator? I was using an old lawnmower battery and it magically went dead but it was at least 5 years old so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
I have a set of off-road lights that will occasionally be ran off the motor/battery so I hope it doesn't go dead on me.

They have a very small charging system, it wont keep up with much.

 Re: Honda 9hp GDLT alternator?
Is it ok to use a small lawnmower battery? It seems to start fine with it I just don't want to ruin a new battery because its being drained.

I think those only charge at 3 amps and that is at high rpms. its not a stator its just a magneto setup like the ignition.
