Post Bushings to tight
So I take it if you tighten up your set screws to tight
The shaft will not turn ? Do I just back them off then loc tight them?

Your set screws for your bushing only need to hold them in place. If you have them too tight you might be egging the shape which will make them tighten on your shaft. Grease your shaft a little when you put it in the housing, if you have oil imprenated bushing it might take some pulling on your engine rope to release the oil from the bushing. Good luck

Post Re: Bushings to tight
I am in the process of building one right now. We just got the bottom and middle bushing installed this afternoon. Mine fit the drive shaft good untill we installed them in the tube. I guess the bushings were such a tight fit we compressed them a little. Im going to take some steel wool and wrap it around a shotgun bore brush and chuck it in a drill and hone them out.

If you back off on your set screw and its still tight it could be that.
