Re: Anybody have advise on ******* swomp long tail?
There are a lot of posts on here about BW. I Had a 29hp Mud Buddy LT and wasn't that crazy with it. I looked heavily at GD and BW. BW won me over, due to having more bang for the buck. I bought a 23HP BW motor and picked it up at Arlons shop when I drove home to MN to visit my family. The crew at BW were outstanding and have always been there for any questions that I had post purchase. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the big name LT, you just have to know what you want. I have not owned a GD LT, but I do own their boat. Any time I telephoned I talked with Coco and he was also super helpful. You just need to try and find someone in your area to ride along with and they can give you valuable information on LT "pros" and "cons"..Good Luck

I went with the GD because I live about 50 miles from the GD shop if I need something I can make it to the shop in about a hour. Now I'm sure the the BW are great I can't speak on them because I never drove one. But I think they have a handle that can be moved to either side of the frame so you can drive with your left or right hand but, ask people on here that have them, I think it's only a quick pin that goes in there so now that would be your weakest point and to me would break in time if you hit enough shit. Can't say anything about GD either cause there handles just break off and not your tying up some rope to your handle just to make it back to your truck. The only think I don't like about the BW is the tubing to me it just looks big and the GD is made made of flat bar.

The Back Water handle has 2 bolts holding it in place. I'd live to find the guy who could bend or tear up the Back Water frame because he's a bad SOB. Back to the original question, please use the search feature. These motors have been discussed at great detail. All the news about these motors is good.
