 16 hp Go Devil
I posted this on the prop/lower unit earlier, but I thought you guys might have some insight too. I am new to this forum and Mud Motors in general, so please forgive me. I just purchased a brand new 16hp Vanguard Go-Devil. I have read the instructions numerous times about the initial lubrication. It states that you must grease the middle zerk in the shaft (I assume the one that has the red sticker by it) daily until the piston moves to the top. It states that it should only take a few squirts. It also states that if you put 10 squirts of grease in 2 different times, that should be all you need to do. Please forgive me for my ignorance, but I want to handle this the correct way. I apologize if I submitted this post under the wrong topic. Thanks in advance.

 Re: 16 hp Go Devil
Not positive on a new one but on my 23 i pump it until the auto lubricator fills most of the way with grease. Not really sure what they are talking about greasing it daily. I would pump it full and run it. If the lubricator pushes the grease into the shaft, pump more. You can't hardly hurt the freakin things. You already grease the bearing and u-joint?
