Post Finished building first longtail
Spent most of this winter building my first longtail. Went pretty well a few do overs . Next step is the water. Bench test went very well ran cool with no noise. I used a needle bearing with a gas coupling machined out on the top and a oillite brass bushing on the bottom. Again I used a gas coupling on the bottom to hold the seals. Filled the tube with some gear oil so far no leaks. Painted with Parker grey (very easy to use) paint. Power plant is a 11hp Honda gx340 I had laying around. Might be to small for most but I am a putter just want to get there no hurry. If it become a problem I will get a bigger motor. After I get it on the boat I will take a few pictures and post. It will be a few weeks before that happens . I would like to thank all the guys on this site for some great ideas. Just reading the post was a huge help and saved me from many mistakes . I hope someone will gain from my post.

Take care
