beavertail motor swap! 20Hp to 27Hp/35hp???
hey guys im new to the forum and I have a question for you all. I have a beavertail longtail with a 20hp Honda 1-1/8" crank. its on my 1754 tracker grizzly and I works.... but hard with a full boat. Im looking at changing out the 20hp for a 27hp briggs or 35hp. does anyone know if I can pull off the 20 and install the 27 briggs and change the prop too? thanks

The things to look at include similar PTO shaft height on each engine and similar mounting holes on the engine block... Prolly the best thing you could do without having the engines on hand would be to call beavertail and see what they say about it, they should know if or how the frames are designed to handle different ranges of horsepower..

On a GD, I know that you can't put a 35 horse on the 27's frame, probably due to shaft height (that's what she said), as mentioned above

Haha, yea that is what she said. I'll have to try beaver tail again about the frame size with mounting holes.
