I put a new 6.5 HP GDLT on 15'4" Hisider last year, works like a charm. Couldn't rig up a grab bar so I use an Alaskan Bridle - a rope tied to the middle seat by the stbd gunwale, with a loop at the other end for a hand hold so I can run standing up.

If you are going to mod the boat check out microskiff.com or the forum for custom Gheenoes.
Your boat is only rated for 10 HP and I wonder if the weight of a 13 Hp may be too much for such a narrow stern.

This was mine. I did build a custom handle for it later that went further out to the side. Made it a lot easier to sit and drive it.

The complete longtail unit weighs 80lbs. That 13hp will weigh a good bit more than that. I'm located in South Carolina. I will be putting this motor on here forsale soon.

I have a riverhawk b-52 duck boat with a scavenger backwater motor. I really like the handle bar on it. The back of a gheenoe/riverhawk is narrow. The sbw handle makes it so you can make a tight turn. But only idle when doing this and dont put it in the water too much becasue it can dig in and get away from you.
