 6.5hp godevil shaft heating up.

Post 6.5hp godevil shaft heating up.
Hows it going guys. I 6.5hp godevil. Yesterday while I was riding it I noticed smoke coming out of the top of the shaft. The top part of the shaft was red hot. I did grease before use. Anyone have any idea what might be causeing this?
