Post Need suggestions for first mud boat build
I have an old Sears john boat I believe it's 11'6". I was thinking about putting a stump jumper 7hp on it. May hook up some LED running lights as well.Would be used mostly down in Florida for getting to hard to access spots to hunt deer and hogs. May try duck hunting as well. It would mostly be just me or one other person. What are y'all's suggestions for what I'm trying to do? Like the fact I can slide the rig in the bed of my truck and don't have to trailer it. Also is there any mods available for the stump jumper?

There are european mods available for the 7 HP Robin that pushes it to 14 HP. They are used in the go kart world. A 7 HP motor will push your little jon boat as fast as you would like to go in it. Less than a 36" bottom width and it will be "iffy" to control.

I believe its deff wider than 36" I'll double check this week to make sure though. Any idea where I could locate the mods at?
