 Backwater swomp-lite locking pin
Guys,
I have my swomp-lite 10 and Im trying to figure something simple out. Because of the style of my boat (a lot like a phowler sneak) the engine cant rest in the bottom of the hull. The shaft hits the cockpit, keeping the prop from resting against the floor. I was just wondering if the engine locks in the down position? I know the engine locks in order to prevent left and right movement, but does it lock down as well? If so, Id gladly cut a gap in the rear cockpit wall in order to have the prop lock in the down position for trailering. If not, im gonna have to build a rest plate for the prop and strap the shaft down during travel.

No , not to my knowledge , it is free floating and does not lock down. FYI I strap mine down while reversed in to the boat.

I put my gunwale strap over the top of the frame to hold it down.

I don't have an H2O, but when ever on trailer I strap the tiller handle down.... If trailering wit tail swung, I strap down tail. When in water, I have a rope hooked to a pad eye that I put on tiller handle to keep tail from hanging on stuff under water, but it keeps tail in water
