Just got a 6.5 Predator! Suggestions?
Saw I could get this engine on a double discount so I bit. I've always wanted to make a gold dredge but also found more recently mud motor kits. Hell, maybe I will do both!
What tails do yall suggest for this beast? I'll be tinkering with it so I am sure I can get an extra hp out of it. The Beaver Dam guy says his are the best and I have read SPS are crap so...

Get a Backwater kit. Honestly, the other kits out there are garbage in comparison. The bearing system and the revo-clean system on the Backwater is light years ahead of the competition. Add in the adjustable cavitation plate and there really is no comparison. Backwater builds tough and durable frames, made to take what you throw at them. If you haven't already, hit up their website and check em out and watch some videos. If you want to spend your hard earned dollars wisely, get the glider kit.

Another vote for Backwater glider kit- built to be the best long-tail, not to be the cheapest. I tried a cheaper one in the beginning and there is no comparison, save your money and do it right the first time. At a glance many guys with a welder and some basic skills can build a long-tail, but nothing comes close to the refinements that set the glider kits apart and make them perform so smooth but also be workhorses that are up to whatever you can dish out. Where are you located that you want to make a gold dredge?
