 Re: shaft stuck on u-joint
You can rent a slide hammer bearing puller or axle puller(whatever it is) from autozone for free. That's what I have used with good results...

 Re: shaft stuck on u-joint
Had same problem.
Heated it with blow torch. Came right off.
You might try heat again and make sure you get it hot...

 Re: shaft stuck on u-joint
You aren't gonna get it hot enough with propane. Go with oxy-acetylene.

 Re: shaft stuck on u-joint
I use a long tapered punch. Drive the punch between the u joint and the shaft. The wedge shape will force the u Joint off. When you run out of shaft to push on remove the wedge and place a nut that fit in the shaft opening on the ujoint. This will drive the ujoint the rest of the way. Your other option is to dissamble the ujoint by removing the clips on the inside ofthe ujoint pins.

 Re: shaft stuck on u-joint
slide hammer works the best. just put a spacer between the u-joint and shaft housing so your not hammering against the motor shaft
