Anyone have a MB Super longtail, or even seen one?

 Re: MB Super Long tail
I've seen both at Seperate times for sale on this very forum. And I've picked the brain of the man that created the beaver tail line, too many times to count. They both didn't last long . About a year back , Mudbuddy said they were going to start producing superlongtails again . I never heard anything after that , I spoke with him on the phone. You have a question about either one?

 Re: MB Super Long tail
Great concept, but it currently comes at a very high price, better off getting a shortail (did I really say that? nah). I believe one earlier GD small HP LT had a reduction gear on it? I would like to see the clutch/neutral offered/tried on smaller blocks: 23, 27 and see the results. In the skinny some of the gains are offset by a larger prop to submerge; also wonder about the reliability of the belt. After nearly 30 years without a clutch/neutral, well, you learn to use an LT and a push pole real well. I like a simple LT drive, but don't call me simple-minded.

 Re: MB Super Long tail
A godevil surface drive basically IS a long tail with gear reduction and a surface prop.

 Re: MB Super Long tail
I drove a super longtail a few years ago at our sparkleberry duck run. To me it was very easy to drive and had alot more oomph than a reg longtail. The clutch was nice. If tgey made a 23hp id prob buy one
