I've got a tall transom and an 85" MBLT and it sucks to drive. It's not impossible to drive just difficult. So would you guys agree the 59" won't work on a 20" transom. I'm not cutting the transom down if I get a new motor.

Correct. Do not put the SS on there. Chances are slim to none that you'd ever get the most out of that motor, no matter how much adjusting you do. You definitely want the LS if you intend on keeping the tall transom.

For what it's worth my 35 swomp SS is on a boat with a 16-1/2" transom.
