Started off using a briggs 7hp off a old pressure washer. But friends dad bought a predator from harbor freight to use

Yeah its on a heavy 1648 right now . Put cav plate on and it did alot better with it on. But in really bad veg it wants to bog down, it just doesn't have enough power for that boat . But for a 1436 or other smaller boats it's not bad . It's still better than the Thai kits and that's what it's really comparable too. My friends dad and grandad love it cause its so light and maneuverable that don't wanna put outboard back on
