FWIW, which is not much coming from a liberal democrat, I detest permanently mounted light bars. My plan is to make a frame that drops into recessed holes and have the wires on a male/female connector, allowing me to stow away the light bar. |

Giga I was thinking of doing the same exact thing. I just don't know how I'm gonna run my wires. I want them hidden and I don't really want to drill any holes if I can get away from it. |

At one point I ran conduit to get wires to the front of my boat to avoid drilling and a big project. Not sure if this would work for your case. |
