 strange pop
every now and then when i put the prop in the water and it bites good enough to put a load on the motor i can hear a metallic pop (in the running gear, not the moor itself) . its an 07 23 with very few hrs. my buddys brand new one does it to. i just wondered what it is and why it does it. it's not real loud but it is noticable.

 Re: strange pop
I think I know the sound you are talking about... Back way back when.. I had a girl that wanted it in the back side.. well, when the head went pass the main muscle, I heard a POP simular to the one you are talking about... Once I heard that, everything was good...
I wouldnt worry about it...

 Re: strange pop
check the play on the prop. it should turn by hand from the twelve o clock to two oclock position. it may have more than that and youre hearing it hit the brass washer
