 Need advice
I was wondering if getting mods for my 25 GDLT is worth getting , I'm talking about pipes carb and head work , Read post about how much gain you guys get with the shorttails but don't here to much on longtails mods , If there's any of you guys that have longtail with mods I would like to here how much better it has been for your longtail and for the loads and for the speeds , just don't won't to fork out the green if there's a chance i won't get much for the money.

 Re: Need advice
I personally don't think it is worth it on a long tail. But it's your money.

 Re: Need advice
my personal opinion would be to first make sure you got your boat and motor workin together perfectly, theres no point in putting mods ona motor when you still have too much boat resistance. or maybe its alreadfy as good as it csan get. then i would say i wouldnt put too much mods on a motor i planned on keeping for a long time and staying reliable, cause everyine on here will tell you that these motors can only handle so much. i have a feeling someones fixin to say im wrong.... i just mean i dont think its safe to take a 23 hp motor and mod it to 30 hp

 Re: Need advice
What kind of boat and what performance do you think you want. How much cash do you want to put in? I've done a lot of mods to my 25 kohler longtail, but haven't gained any speed, just the abilty to carry a lot more load without losing all my power. Check the 25 kohler post in the engine mods section.

 Re: Need advice
Id say put pods on your boat and get a good prop for it, that'll help just as much as anything. maybe throw on a K&N style air filter and an electric fuel pump if you really wanna get wild. but I wouldnt waste my time pulling the motor apart and have machining done. I'd rather save up for a bigger motor.. just my 2 cents
