After countless hours of pushing the 12' flat bottom through shallows It was time to build a long tail. I wanted to keep it light and fast. I ended up buying the MADMUDMOTOR plans off of ebay for the tech data and started building. 6.5 blue box from Harbor freight with plenty of mods from Affordablegokarts.com. Motor mods: governor removed, high comp piston, milled head, mild port, intake, exhaust, jetting and carb work. Future mods: aluminum flywheel (before mine grenades), billet rod (before mine snaps), and 22 mm Mikuni, and full balance. Hoping for 10+ mph and get loaded 12' on plane. Motor weighs in at 70 Lb. not bad bud could lose weight by changing MADMUDMOTORS thick walled shaft housing. Project almost done will post pics soon. |

be careful going toot hin on ther housing, remember the longer the shaft the better, to an extent. and with a long shaft you need the housing to be braced really good to support the weight of the prop and the torque, and all the obstructions the prop will hit. if that housing gives too much leeway its not gonna end up good. good luck and keep pictures up |

My buddy just finished one of these. He put it on a 10 ft Jon boat. No mods though. Doesn't have any speeds yet either. |
