Post subject:  new long tail mudmotor done!!!
Just finished my longtail yesterday. i got a set of plans off ebay and followed it from there. i'm using a 6.5 clone engine from harbor frieght and put a clutch on the prop shaft. i was surprised with the motor quality and how it's acted out of the water so far. but in the water and a few months down the road, we'll see if i'm still impressed. the prop is a 7x4 from hill marine. hopefully i'll have it in the water on monday or tuesday with pics and maybe a video soon to follow i hope.

the boat it's mounted to is a homebuilt 14' jon boat, "big mama" design from gator boats. it's built out of plywood/fiberglass and worked very nice with a trolling motor, now time to see what is does with the longtail!

can't wait to see the pics. My dad just replaced his 5hp go devil motor with the 6.5hp from harbor freight for like 90$ and it bolted right on perfectly with the older briggs and seemed to have ran great.

finally got some pics for y'all. motor worked well and was very impressed with such a small engine. went out monday afternoon and played arround on a local pond. not really too many pics of the motor itself but you get an idea.
