Well just ordered a new 35 cdi go-devil for my 1656gd boat cant wait for it to get here and try out. Plus coco sending me a rear floatation that they put in the back of the boat like the new gd boats have. He is a nice guy and the service has been great. also sent me new foam awhile back with all the stuff to put it back in the boat.

I went and picked it up for him in jackson today. We got it put together and on the boat. Went for a liltest run and seems to be pretty stout. Gonna try to take mine and his out tomm evening and run em a bit

That rear flotation is a pain. At least it is for me. Takes up too much space and won't let you put the handle all the way down to the floor.

u should def be getiing at least close to 4000 rpm if u have the correct pitch prop and ur not trying to push a barge

what does it turn out of water?

Author:  autogateman [ Fri Nov 12, 2010 9:43 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: New 35cdi go-devil longtail

that doesnt sound right, i would check that the throttle is reaching the stop at WOT, and maybe adjust the governor. check it on the trailer, if the max rpm's are waay higher than with a load, the gov may need adjustment

Post subject:  Re: New 35cdi go-devil longtail

u can get replacement springs that pull harder, theyre color coded. get a service manual for your engine from a lawnmower shop, it will tell you everything about adjusting rpm's. we all know more rpm's = more speed

Post subject:  Re: New 35cdi go-devil longtail

You can turn the gov up to 4300. The cdi has a built in rev limiter that won't let you over that anyway. Make sure the butterfly on the carb is opening all the way too.
