In todays world with technology out the wazoo why can't the mudmotor makers come up with a better way to remove a prop.It looks like a first grader with a box of crayons designed the current way props are installed and it sucks.Beat heat and cuss shoud not be the way to remove props.Who ever though of this way to install props should have there ass kicked in public.Six months ago I installed a new prop with more neversieze on it than I have used in the past 20 years you think it would come off with ease WRONG.Just a lousey design.Sorry just venting. |

I hear you screamin' man. here is something i do to make it alittle easier. 1. invest in a 3/4-10 tap and die. chase your threads every time. 2. marine style anti sieze on the nuts and marine grease the prop area on the shaft. 3. when you decide to remove prop, marinate in a penetrating lubricant for a couple of days. 4. then a BFH! |

Make a took out of flat bar with a 3/4" hole or one that will go on an impact. |

Hells yes! i didnt want to say it because gd recommends not to but 3/4 impact highest setting and a homemade prop socket. bump it a couple of times and usually comes right off. |

The impact socket sounds like a good idea. The plus on the impact is,I have a 3/4 Ingersol Rand it will take it off or break it off impact.More to follow. |

Got the blessed thing off with a 3/4" impact. Now I chased the threads and used marine locktite but I did this thing 6 months ago.I did not take the back nut and tighten against the end of the threads I left about 1 turn before bottom and tightend everything against that.Hope this helps. Thank for all your help. |
