i have tried everything as to keep my prop in the water on my long-tail, and nothing has worked,so i guess ima have to bend my cavitation plate up. any tips on how to do this and some tools needed? |

bend the end up and the back side angled edges down, solved my problem! u may can jus hammer it up. i had to heat mine up because the frame was rebuilt by go devil and they used thicker metal the second time! heat would save time regaurdless. |

bend it up in small incriments till it does like you want it. Use a bfw (big fking wrench) |

damn surely had to bend that plate up alot, what do u think causes the prop to come out the water even if you adjusted the trim bolt? |

so try to bend it up a lil at the time untill i hit the sweet spot? |

yeah, id say 1/8 at the time. I actually let the motor come to the top and hold the motor where the cav. plate is an inch or so out the water in a surfacing mode to go a mph or so faster, it just gets tiring after a while. |

a decent sized (12" or larger) cressent wrench would be preferred over a hammer. heat would help too. |

go devil recommends using a crescent wrench, i'd say use a big one like marsh maniac suggested and if that doesn't work than try and put a pipe on the handle of the wrench to get some more torque |

Worn out prop will make them blow out of the water too. Mine has started to do this. Rather fight a bear with a switch then change the prop though! Guess I'll run it for the rest of the season and firht it this spring. |

The screw would have very little to do with that unless, you have it set to high and its holding the motor out the water, and the mud buddy isnt that bent, just the way they build i bent mine to about a 45 at the tip and it works great. |

i originally had mine at a 45 degree, now have it at about 20 degree and it works fine i tried straight, 45 and then 20 degree and the 20 degree spot worked the best but all are different, my brother in laws motor has to run flat, if you have heated it before, use a larger cresent wrench and it will bend easily after the first time you heat it if it is 1/8 inch plate |
