Green Grease. Its 100% synthetic. Its also water proof and EP and disc brake wheel bearing rated. So you can use it in anything and everthing. Its great for boat trailer bearings too. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for! |

99% will disagree but walmart marine lube works pretty darn good. when it comes to seals and bushing/bearings in a marine enviroment i was always told to look for a "weeping" grease. Walmart grease seems to keep my bushings and seals oily. It sucks in trailer bearings cause it weeps too much and slings the oily stuff everywhere. Its about 3.80 a tube and ive been using it since aqualube became hard to find around here. i use the blue drydene grease made by castrol in my trailer. I bought 2 cases of it when a local napa store went out of business. |

no you are misunderstanding the post. you dont look for leaking seals it the texture of the grease. it will have an oily discharge. btw bearings dont weep unless there sealed dumb ass. If you dont agree its fine to say so but dont disrespect me with a bs comment. |

I run strictly ams-oil grease, works for me on the motor and trailer bearings. |

I use Lucas Red n Tacky #2 grease. Its a high temp grease rated for marine use. I get it at Tractor Supply or Home Depot. |

i believe everyone of you and i am all for running the good stuff. my seals are bad in my trailer thats why they leak. when i put walmart marine grease in the bearings they did leak worse. but i run it in my 1992 gtlt and i'm running the same bushings installed in 2001. i've ran walmart for several years and i really cant tell any difference in seal wear or any heat related issues. I dont put it in the hinge areas either just the shaft housing and i've had no issues. also check your local msds sheets in wal mart, super tech is produced by exxon mobile and is not as "cheap" a grease as most people believe. i work in the food service products and wal mart has higher specs on there brands than our name brand stuff. same as energizer batteries, they make the walmart batteries just a different label. I'm not sayin, I'm just sayin'! BTW wm grease is a lithium complex with a drop point of 500 degrees. Lucas Red n Tacky #2 grease has the same properrties and drop point. |

I know grease plays a part in seal wear but conditions you are running plays a big factor also. I run one in a crawfish pond and had to hang the seals after three years eventhough it stays greased. This is due to the vegetation staying wrapped around the shaft and its eats at the wiper seal first then works its way to the othe two seals. Sand, dirt, and shell is what eats seals more than the quality of grease. |

100% true my friend. i also think the fact that i run bushings vs. bearings might also make a difference. |
