It should do OK on your 1440, never gunna be a ball of fire.

You may need to check around. I think the 20 block is the same as a 23 They make em for 23's

The 20 and 23 blocks are NOT the same!

I had to replace the motor on my 20 LT (sunk in Katrina) with a 23.
Everything bolted right up EXCEPT the muffler! There ain't much difference but the 20 muffler will not fit!

If you can use a stock 20 muffler, I just happen to have one with one season (fresh water) I can let ya have for less than 1/2 the price of a new one ;), say $50.00 and you pay the shipping.

I had my 20 LT on a 14 / 40 flat when I first got it. Performed OK.

On Coco's advice, I switched to a 16/36 boat and picked up about 4 MPH even though the 16' is fiberglass and weighs about 250 Lbs. more that the alumimum.

Long tails do better on a longer boat. But, run what ya got, it will be OK

Just my $0.02
