Let me know what you all think of this motor.....Where I am from we dont have many of these (mostly MB & GD).
I am a little concerned about that corkscrew looking prop. Might not bite too much in our tall grasses down here.....
Please share you experience....Thanks.

I have one that I run on a 1448. It ain't no speed demon but it sure will get me into some tight places. I traded a 25 hp outboard for it and will never look back. As far as weeds, I haven't found any that will stop it and I run through some pretty nasty places. I can run full speed on plane with 3 people and gear through the weeds and it doesn't have an issue, every once in a while I have to pull it out of the water to spin so junk off of it but it doesn't stop me from goin through it. Where are you located? If your ever around north carolina let me know and I'll take you for a ride to show you what she can do.

I also have the 27 Kohler beavertail. It pushes my 1854 beavertail boat just fine. As already mentioned its not fast, but it gets me where I want to go. Grass, weeds and mud are no problem. Was out a few weeks ago, with 4 guys and a BIG hunting load.....boat pushed through thick mud and NO water with ease.

No longtail will get exceptional speeds on a 14 foot boat, or an 1854. I had this motor on a 16 foot boat and it gave good speeds. It's best quality is not losing much speed/power with a couple people in the boat. I bet that's also the same on the 14ft and 1854 rigs.
