I just bought a used 16x36 go devil skiff with a 16 vanguard longtail. I am going through the motor now and was wondering if there are any aftermarket bolt on parts for this engine? Carbs, exhaust, fuel pumps and anything else. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Check the go-kart websites. Your best bet is to go with a bigger motor, but if you want to do something relatively inexpensive that will give you a lil more power, gut the stock exhaust, and have your heads done. Just take them in to a machine shop and have them decked, ported and polished, and a valve job.

Buy you a cam from a go-kart store, remove the govenor and rev-limiter and re-jet your carb ontop of what they said.

You may gain 2 mph and shorten your engine life! Wohoo!

I put a K&N air filter and a Mr Gasket electric fuel pump on my 16GDLT. Do I see any significant changes in performance? No. Do I sleep better at night knowing that my motor is getting good air and gas? you betcha. lol. (okay, maybe not.. but as long as it works I'm happy)

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I replaced everything OEM and motor is running great. I want reliability over performance, as this boat was not meant to be a speed demon any way. When this motor dies I will replace it with a 20 hp.
