new to longtails I have a 9hp robin mud buddy and i need to know what people are running for oil. I have read similar posts about using only synthetics but i am curious as to why. also how much oil to use in a motor that size. any help would be great thanks |

For most temps Robin reccomends a quality 10 - 30W, Just like your car. Change it at least once a year or 200 hours, which ever comes first. Mark |

yea i agree with earl. even though i run synthetic. most "experts" will say that the only engines that would benifit from synthetic is extreme temp enviroments hot or cold, say up north or deep in the south. Most will say "its just a lawnmower engine man" but what the hell its just 2 quarts and my lawn mower never left me stranded 7 miles down river either. |

It's just a lawn motor engine LOL. How many lawn mowers, generators, pumps or anything else driven by an air-cooled engine have you ever seen fail due to the wrong oil in them. 10-30 is fine ran that or anything else I could grab in my longtails for years. Good luck |
