i just got a 1756 legend craft flat bottom and it has a 24hp Honda longtail with a 9x7 two blade. i have had it out 4 times and the last time was a windy day but i put the gps on my phone to it and i was only reading 8 mph. is something wrong i am not sure what speeds i should be expecting

thats a pretty wide boat, im no expert, i think u should be gettin a little faster than that but choppy water and gear will slow lt's down quickly. how reliable is a gps on your phone too? just kinda curious

checked the phone gps with my truck and its dead on. wind wasnt bad and speed stayed the same both directions. i had one battery, a full tank of gas, i'm 170, and my 75 lb lab. i am going to check prop size and look into a larger one

yea my transom may even be a little shorter than 16. thanks for the replies yall, what would be a good prop size to go with? the one on it now says 9x7 and if i can go up in size i would sacrifice performance in the mud to gain some speed. i use it for fishing and getting through the flooded timber during duck season

less pitch will push a load better, idk if weight is your issue.

Is there any dents in the bottom of the hull?

Check your prop measurement

Is your motor finicky to start and idle??

What gauge hull you got???

prop is way too small so i ordered a new 9x6 from backwater inc. i know there has been some negative reviews but i spoke with arlon on the phone for about 30 minutes and he seemed like a good person. supposed to get shipped out today so we'll see
