Post removing mounting brackets on Mud buddy 27hp longtail
I recently bought a used 2008 27hp Kohler mudbuddy longtail and have been fixing it up. According to the owners manual when they are new and arrive in the crate the easiest way to mount them and get everything lined up is to first mount the bracket on the boat transom and then lower the main fraim down and bolt it in place. I was going to try and do this but the large 3/4" bolts (one that goes vertically to pivot left/right and the horizontal one to pivot up down) on the mounting bracket won't budge out of their holes even with the end nuts off. I gave them a few good whacks with a sledge and before I broke anything I wanted to know if anyone knew why they don't just slide out so I can take off the mounting bracket from beneath the frame. Are they threaded or welded on anything in the mounting holes? If not, they might be just rusted in place in the tubes. Thanks for any advice

They are not welded. The bolt should come out freely. I had a 27 hp and would take my motor off the mounting bracket frequently. You probably have it in a bind somehow and are not allowing the bolt to be removed freely.
