Post new to the forum and mud motors
Im about to pick up a 14ft monark flat bottom with a 9.9hp briggs go devil motor. It had a 14hp kohler sample motor on the go devil frame but the previous owner had to take it off. Have not ran it yet; do y'all think the 9.9hp will push it ok? I plan to upgrade to a larger motor on the same go devil frame and add a small polling platform. Suggestions and input welcome please. Thanks!

oughta be ok. a poling platform is a little much for it i think. im very cautious about riveted boats though, i picture rivets like the tabs on a coke can.

I have a 1436 rivited boat and I LOVE it! but then again, I dont run rocks or any difficult waters but it handles shallow sand and mud really well. its so light weight that it can go places heavier boats generally cant get in and out of as easily. I think you did good. :)
